Arnica minimizes the immediate effects of damage to tissue and aids the healing of bruises, sprains and injuries.

The main active components are sesquiterpene lactones, mainly helenalin and its derivatives. The anti-inflammatory effect is due to the ability of helenalin and its derivatives to inhibit activation factors that are involved in the inflammatory process. Also, the inhibition of platelet aggregation by the inter action of helenalin and its derivatives improves the blood flow and therefore reduces bruising. This mechanism differs from that of conventional non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and does not produce the side effects associated with those drugs. Arnica also suppresses inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins The plant also possesses counter-irritant properties which increases local circulation which in turn relieves congestion and inflammation.

Lavender Essential Oil - Lavender is renowned for its calming and balancing effects. Lavender is also reputed to have excellent results with stretch marks, scarring, and burns.
